Witching Hour and ever Mindful the days of the Year are ticking by....

2014 is soon to be history...

I just really wanted to play with some paperclay and stamping ever since I saw Black Dragon's masterpieces of stamped clay art! You can see a recent example HERE.

I used my (only) skull stamp inked with Archival Ink and pressed it into the paperclay. I pressed firmly down to get the ink to show in all the wonderful details in this stamp. This stamp is the same one I used HERE. It is Inkadinkado Nevermore.

I inked the edges with a water brush and Distress Ink Antique Linen and Vintage Photo.  I discovered that you should not get paperclay too wet with anything, it gets mushy, d'uh! But if you go easy and let the inks dry in between layers it is much better. But it is so hard to wait I know.....

The pocket watch die cut was painted in Black Soot and embossed with Ranger Verdigris powder. I inked the edges on both sides with Archival Ink Jet Black. Then for some shine I added UTEE all around the edges.

Thank you kindly for all your wonderful comments and words of support!

Happy Creepmas!

  1. Wicked patina on your watch. Love how different this skull looks from your 31 DOH example. Thanks for the reminder not to get paperclay too moist. Both sides are deliciously delightful.
