Design Team Call & New Challenge~Mixed Media Mojo~March 2015

Welcome to a new month!

Sure hoping this March leads to a creative and warmer Spring for everyone!

Ready to get away a bit and play this day? Sure hope so!

Click HERE to pop over to the link up page.

At Mixed Media Mojo we have lots of fun things in store for your this month. First up we are holding a Design Team Call until mid-month. If you love to get inky, painty and used all sorts of materials in a fun, creative way, why not apply to our call? We'd love to have you link up, just pick a project you are really proud of to share with us. There is a link up on this PAGE at Mixed Media Mojo. Hope to see you soon!

And now if the super fun part, a new challenge!

Now is your chance to play with making an ATC! The theme is Anything Goes, the twist is 2. YOu can interpret the set of 2 any way you wish!

In case you are not sure, an ATC is an Artist Trading Card. It is a fun way to trade art among friends or anyone. An ATC is never sold. If you want to make ones to sell, then call it an ACEO, or Art Card, Editions & Originals. Both measure 2 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches. For our challenge you need to keep the base to size but you are allowed to have the embellies of the sides/tops.

Please click the images to see them bigger :)

For my 2, I went literally and made two ATCs. I love playing in this size!

For both ATCs, the base is covered with rows of washi tape. This is done the same way as the technique I learned from Claudine in the Altered Playing Card Challenge. You can visit Claudine to see her how-to, HERE and see my APCs HERE

I cut a second piece of manila folder and used a Sizzix mini mover heart die to cut the shape. The small heart trail is a thin metal die by Simon Says Stamp.

I inked the Holtz Harlequin embossing folder then placed the die cut card inside and embossed it. I used Dusty Concord Distress Ink. Once dry I used a Unity background stamp, Chicken Wire with Potted Soil Archival Ink, for the mesh design.

This one I used another of my favorote Holtz stamps. I cut it apart and clear embossed the three gentlemen. I used pop dots to get a bit more depth. I used alcohol ink on the star to give it color.

I really hope you like this pair and that it inspires you to try an ATC if you have not done so before!

Can't wait to see what you make this month. See you soon!

~hugs~
