Stencil Sunday~Mixed Media Canvas~"Take the Scenic Route"

Hello!

Today I have a project shared on the STAMPlorations blog and a few extra pictures to share here.

I used the ARTplorations stencils Oh My Stars, Retro Circles and Some Birds. These were all stencils I was given to create samples for STAMPlorations and I really do  love them!

For the sweetie bird, I traced the shape using the stencil on a sheet of book pages I layered with DecoArt matte medium. The outline is a Gold pen.

The colors on the bottom layers are built up with Decoupage Medium, Nuance water soluble powders and DecoArt Media Mister. Love the intense colors. The top layers are splattered with more paints and ink sprays.

Still a teeny bit of time to play, if you can't make it this month, hope to see you in March :)

Visible Image Sunday Play~Learn to Fly Again...

Hi!

Today I have another Monolith I made fro Visible Image to share fro my Sunday Play!

Where I live it is sunny and too warm, we seem to skip seasons, Fall, Spring and Winter are days long instead of weeks :) It has been so sunny and warm, it really inspired me to go to the beach...well try to on board anyways! Seaside, whitewashed fresh and peaceful...

This MDF Monolith features the Learn to Fly Again stamps, a brilliant set by the awesome Duo that runs and creates Visible Image Stamps. Fabulous Mark and Helen do it all themselves from designing, to manufacturing and cutting to shipping and service!

I built ip the layers with DecoArt Matte Medium and DecoArt Acrylics and Americana acrylics.

I attached the layers using Decoupage Napkin medium. It works great with stamping on tissue paper.

Have an amazing day and treat yourself to some amazing stamps, you will love them!

Visible Image Sunday~ Unicorn Magic!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope you have a beautiful, wonderful day with friends, family, loved ones!

Today I have another Visible Image Monolith project to share, I will keep it short and sweet :) Today is double special: Visible Image is on Create and Craft UK television today! Mark, the awesome designer of the fab stamps is sharing some new demos along with Design Teamie Pauline. Hope you can check out the show. There are replays available for a short time to watch online. I will add the link as soon as I get it. Outside of the UK you can watch it online. It should be available HERE for a few days.

The MDF Monoliths are great fun to play with, very sturdy and an amazing substrate. The star today is the magical Unicorn Magic stamp set by Visible Image.  Unicorns are so wonderful, been a favorite magical creature of mine for ages!

Side one is bright and cheery with the bold sentiment. I wanted to keep it as simple as possible.
I used the Old Roses stencil with heavy gel medium and Nuance color powders on top. I used WOW Opaque Bright White to emboss the unicorn on black cardstock. I fussy cut the Unicorn leaving the small shadow border to pop away from all the other white.

Side two is a collage layered with gel medium and various tissues. I added some foil sparkle and DecoArt Interference Fluid Acrylic, it shows a bit in the photo.

Have a happy day!
hugs,
~kim

For this project I used the blank MDF ATC, Framed Label,  mini Bird with Heart and

The background is stenciled with heavy gel medium, micro beads and inked with Distress Ink.
The MDF is all natural, with the laser scorching, just gorgeous. Did not want to cover it up at all!

I made a 5" x 7" cardboard substrate canvas to share! Hope you like it!

These are the stamps I was given as part of the Design team to play with and I so lovvvveee them! It is a joy to use them each time.

The border trims were made using various Martha Stewart punches. The Daisy Chain was stamped with one of the grunge border stamps. I added Vintage Photo Distress Ink over most for 'aging'.

Have a great day!

I am also sharing this over on the Moo-Mania Challenge Blog: February Hearts theme. Check out this wonderful challenge blog, it is amazing how much you can add to a tiny Moo piece. That is my next goal, to alter a Moo :)

Visible Image Sunday~New MDF & Dragonfly

Happy Sunday!

Today I am so excited to share my first project made with the awesome new products by Visible Image!! Yay!

As part of the design  team, I was very grateful to be given some of the new MDF "Monoliths" and new stamps to play and share today. The Monoliths and Dragonfly "Live in the Moment" are available for pre-order, now.

This play was lots of fun and I really tried to use everything I love in making it!

~added March 10 2016.....so thrilled to win at Country View Challenges!!~

The Monolith is a wonderful size and is designed to work with the stamps perfectly. It is 17cm x 10cm. About 6 inches by 4 inches and a sturdy 3mm thick, laser cut and smooth. And I know it's weird, but the wood smells good, too. Yeah I know weird but I love the smell of pencils and wood :)

I created the background with my DecoArt Blogger stash. Yummy DecoArt Crackle Paste, Fluid Acrylics and Antiquing Cream.

The flip side is collaged with mat medium and DecoArt Fluid Acrylics. It is edged in the DA Fluid Acrylic Gold, love the shine it has.

Everything is heat embossed because I love embossing and dragonflies. So I had to combine all the things I love in this project. It makes them shine :) I used Ranger Extra Fine Black and Recollections Bronze powders.

Next Sunday Visible Image is on TV on Create and Craft. Pauline and Mark will be sharing some fabulous demos and all these awesome stamps. I will add the linky here to view it when I get it. Outside the UK, I found it can be watched on your PC using the Incognito mode in Chrome.

In the meantime see lots of great projects for Visible Image with these links:
