October 5~ 31 Days of Halloween Wicked Blogger Challenge Day 5~APCC Week 5 Card 2

Hi!

Today is Day 5 of 31 Days of Halloween, least I hope so and hope I have not lost track! It is all sorta starting to blend together, yikes!

Last chance to link up your World Card Making Day card with us at Mixed Media Mojo. There is a prize, too! Share with us what you made this weekend, we'd love to see:)

Find the details and daily scavenger hunt clue at Terra's Blog HERE.  The Wicked Blogger Hop List is on my right sidebar>>>>>>    :)

My project is also for the super fun Altered Playing Card Challenge at Claudine Criner's Blog HERE
This is so fun and so close to ATC size. I'm really lovin' the smaller format:)

This is my Week 5 Card 2, Timeless Secrets. Hope you like it!

The base is a regular playing card, primed with a layer of gesso. The background is made up of various torn papers. I inked over them with Distress Ink (DI) colors Antique Linen and Vintage Photo.
I used the Tim Holtz Splatters stencil with DI Aged Mahogany for the splattery dots.

The skull stamp was stamped on Strathmore Mixed Media 90lb paper.  The stamp is from the Inkadinkado Nevermore collection. I used a water brush and Distress Inks Antique Linen and Vintage Photo to color the skull.

Thanks much for looking and *hugs* for all the visits!
Have a spooky day!

October 4~ 31 Days of Halloween Wicked Blogger Challenge Day 4~World Card Making Day 2014

Happy Day 4 of 31 Days of Halloween!

So fun today is World Card Making Day! So of course I needed to make a Halloween card >.<
The is some extra fun over at Mixed Media Mojo, too.  We are happy to present a super fast ONE DAY Challenge with a prize! Check it out when you have a chance today!

Still early on in the fun at Smeared and Smudged 2014 31 Days of Halloween! Hop along to discover and be inspired with some super art out there! Leave some comments along the way to let all of know what you think! See Terra's blog for all the fun details and the clue for the scavenger hunt! Just in case you need it, the Wicked Blogger Hop List is there at the top, right!

Simple card today, colored with Distress Inks, stamped with Distress Embossing Ink and embossed in black. I really love the shine! I used Ranger Verdigris embossing powder for the sentiment and bottom trim. The sentiment did not photograph well, sorry! Much easier to see in real life. The stamps used were Inkadinkado All Hallows Eve Halloween item 98627.

Happy Hopping, when you are done, make a card to share :)

Have a spooky fun day!

October 3~ 31 Days of Halloween Wicked Blogger Challenge Day 3~APCC Week 5

Greetings this Friday! Yay!

Today's post is Day 3 of Smeared & Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Wicked Blogger play along. The challenge being to post a new project each day using Halloween or Day of the Dead and a stamped or digi image.

See Terra's blog HERE for all the details. Remember there are great daily giveaways in the scavenger hunt and a giveaway for all you lovely Blog Hoppers :) In case you get lost, the Hop is right here>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>under Mr. Neon Skele!

My project is also for Claudine's Week 5 Altered Playing Card play along. This is another super fun project to alter an entire deck of playing cards, just do 2 per week. Cool thing is you can join up anytime to play along. Come see the fun HERE

This is the first card for this week, I hope to get the second one done soon, lol. The prompt is using acrylic paint and run from there!

I primed the card with a thin coat of gesso a couple of weeks ago to prep for this challenge. I painted the coral color onto the background and let it dry. Then I used a stencil to add the teal dots.

I used Unity stamps for everything else. The pumpkin was colored with Sharpies and Bic Mark It pens.  I stamped the bats and sentiment onto tissue paper with Jet Black Archival ink. The black dots are from a domino pattern Unity stamp.

I love the playing card size, it is very close to an ATC, so fun to play with!

Thanks for visiting today, I adore all the comments you all have left, makes me all smiles!
Happy Hopping, see the Hopper list on the right sidebar:)

Have a spooky day!

October 2~ 31 Days of Halloween Wicked Blogger Challenge Day 2

Day 2 of the Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Challenge, Wicked Blogger!

Thanks for comin' back today! I appreciate all of the wonderful Hoppers! Pick up the Hop at any spot but do make sure you see all the wonderfulness out there! Your Blog Roll is there on the right, Happy Hopping! Right now you are at Kim~Tangled Blue Rose.

For all the details on 31 DOH 2014, please check Terra's blog, HERE  Remember there are prizes for Hoppers and a cool scavenger hunt, too!

Today I have a repurposed fruit jar made into a not so scary Halloween Lantern.

I found these pot jars at Walmart for about $1. The fruit is ok, I really just wanted the jar:)

Emptied and cleaned ofc. The bottom layer is covered with deli wrap painted with various Distress Paints. Then I torn it up once it was dry. I adhered it to the glass with Mod Podge. While that was drying, I stamped the images onto a stretchy gauze bandage with Jet Black Archival Ink. While the Mod Podge was still tacky, I swear it never dries fully(!) I wrapped the glass in the bandage. I used a brush and pressed into the fabric some more Mod Podge.

To light it up for the photos here I just used an LED flashlight. For display I will use an LED tea light that flickers. I don't wanna use a real candle with the Mod Podged paper... and to avoid potential disaster at home.

The intricate stamp looks cool unlit, but.......

The awesome detail gets lost when you light it up, I think simple is a bit better:)

Happy Hoppin'! Don't forget your next stop is found right under Kim at the Neon Skele back at the top:)

Have a spooky day!

I am participating as a Wicked Blogger, my goal: a new Halloween or Day of the Dead project for each day this month! There are ways for our beloved Hoppers to win some cool stuff too and a scavenger hunt! See Terra's blog for more info! Her blog is the top linky under Mr. Neon Skele.

If you are following along on the 31 Days Hop, follow the Hop Log right over there on the right under the Neon Skele! Love him!

Onwards, this is my Mixed Media Mojo DT Inspiration piece and my first entry for 31 Days of Halloween {31 DOH }

This is a tag that I cut into 3 sections to make a small card to kick off my favorite season and all its fun, Halloween! This was inspired by a project by Paula Cheney HERE such an awesome artist!

I coated both sides of the manila tag with gesso and let it dry. Then added Black Soot Distress Ink on top. To seal that in I rubbed on some gel medium with a wet wipe in a process I learned from Paula HERE This helps to smooth out the strokes and make it really aged and gorgeous!

Then I stamped the diamonds with my Tim Holtz Harlequin stencil using Distress Ink and clear embossed it. Kinda smudgey not too gruesome....
I used a gauze bandage for the wispy curtain blowing too close to a candle, don't place them so close in real life >.<

Don't forget 31 Days Hoppers, the Blog Roll is back up at the top of this page:)

Have a Spooky day!
