Challenge #69 Left of Center Creative Challenges~Good Luck or Bad~Roll the Dice...

So how lucky do you feel today? After all it is Friday the 13th....

This is my DT make for Left of Center Creative Challenges. I do like the dark side play as you most likely know :)

                                                              Visit LOC HERE

It is a great day for the newest Creative Challenge at Left of Center: Good Luck or Bad. As always at Left of Center you are welcome to follow the suggested theme or if that does not strike your fancy, you are most welcome to play towards the dark side. We would love to see what you make!

For my project I used an image by Rick St. Dennis from the Voodoo Digital stamp set at Smeared Ink, you can find it HERE

Please click each photo to see them bigger:)

The "canvas" is cardboard. So fun and easy to play with! It is about 8 inches by 8 inches.

The background started with some gesso then I added some texture paste through a stencil. It kinda went crazy and got gloppy. Is gloppy a word??? Dunno...anyways, it looked weird so I added some Dylusions spray inks and water once the paste was dry.

On top of that I added some crackle paste. Once set and dry I finished off with some Lindy's Stamp Gang spray. I love this spray, it is one of two colors I own, it sprays on purple and dries with the awesome blue sparkle. :)

I trimmed the awesome RSD image and mounted it on black cardstock. I layered it on top of the "window". The background of the "window" I had fun embossing! I did paper dry embossing and inked the embossing folder itself then ran it though to get the pattern and thennnn stay with me, clear embossed the diamonds/harlequin for more sparkle and shine.

I hope you have time to play and really look forward to seeing your wonderfully creative fun at Left of Center!

~hugs~
~best luck always!~

Day 1~Kickstart Your Art~Smeared and Smudged Challenge

Happy Monday!

As this day winds down here I finally finished my art journal page! I am playing along with the 7 day challenge from Smeared and Smudged, Kickstart Your Art. The Challenge is to make an art journal page a day for seven days. One each day following the daily prompt.

Today's prompt is Lots of Layers! You can join the Facebook Group to check it all out, HERE

Here we go! I hope you have fun and play along this week!

Click each photo to make it grow up :)

I made my journal. Each page is just about 8.5 inches by 10.5 inches. It is made from paper grocery bags: cheap simple wonderful substrate.

Layers.....the base was covered with homemade gesso. While the gesso was wet I applied the skulls image on the right, it is a Halloween napkin. I just pressed it into the gesso.  I helped it dry with my embossing gun, it is wet and cold here today so I was too impatient to let it air dry.

Next I applied Distress Paints in several colors, sprayed with water. The held it up to let all the paint run. I really liked as the paint hit the napkin it soaked in an made a nice effect.

On top of the Distress Paint is sprayed some ink spray and splattered some more paint on it.

Added some hearts paper tape under the Teri Sherman/Smeared Ink Skull with bow digital stamp.

I did some random stamping with paint. I made the sentiment page with one of my favorite Tim Holtz stamps and used Distress Inks, Black Soot and Vintage Photo on the edges.

In case you are interested this is the backside of the page, there is minimal bleed-through. I think the gesso helps stop that. I love the wrinkly texture. After I cut up the bags I got them wet. Then after they air dried I ironed them. The idea for this journal came from this wonderful blog HERE by Judy Wise.

My journal is naked, it has no covers. I will get to it....... :)

Now, as it says, "Live the live you've imagined"

Go play and get inky and painty.

This was a super fun day! LOVE this play:)

Dead of Winter Smeared & Smudged Member Blog Hop~January 2015

Welcome to my stop along the Dead of Winter Blog Hop!

This fun hop is organized by the fantastic ladies at Smeared Ink! I have the blog roll posted on the left side bar and again at the bottom in case you get lost along the way.

I love blog hops! It is such a fun way to discover new blogs and find amazing and super talented artists. The Smeared Ink hops guarantee to show you an alternate view and maybe make you shiver....

This is Winter Chill. I used a digital stamp from Smeared Ink, Creepers-Misk. The snowflake overlay is a freebie by Jill Wellington, HERE.

Please click the images to make them bigger :)

I printed out Misk then colored him with my Bic Mark It pens.  Then I scanned the image and played in Photoshop Elements.

This is the full print that I made the "snap shot" from.

Keep warm and enjoy the Hop!

Day 12 of 12 Days of Creepmas Smeared and Smudged Smeared Ink Day

Welcome to Christmas Eve's Eve!

This is the last day of the 12 Days of Creepmas 2014, organized, hosted and sponsored by the incredible ladies at Smeared and Smudged! You can see all the details HERE at Terra's blog. Then please do hop over and check out the Smeared Ink shop, it is packed with must-haves!

The Jolly Blogger Hop roll is there to the right if you get lost along the way.

This twelfth day is also a Smeared Ink day in which we bloggers are challenged to use Smeared Ink images, rubber or digital.

And, here we go!

I found a small real life "tree" at the dollar store the other day. It is an evergreen, I think it is a Juniper, it smells wonderful. The cutting looks like a small Christmas tree. So of course, what could I possibly decorate it with???  Grumpie ornaments!

Excuse the harsh flash picture, I wanted a brighter photo of the cutie Grumpies :)

Lastly, a simple sentiment card!

The Steampunk Reindeer is also Smeared Ink like the Grumpie. I colored the reindeer then scanned him into the PC. I added the text digitally. The blue background I layered from photos my son took of the Grumpie tree, playing with long exposures.

I hope this made you smile! I had a blast with Creepmas though it seemed a bit more crazy that 31 Days of Halloween. Just the Season I suppose!

Season's Creepings, may all your dark art shine on into 2015 and beyond!

I thank you truly for all your awesome visits and kind words along the way and sharing your precious time to follow all of the bloggers on this amazing journey!

~great hugs~

LOC Challenge #59~Delicious Doodles & Smeared Ink~Winter Fairy~12 Days of Creepmas

Welcome to a most welcomed Friday!

So happy the weekend is almost here, how about you?

Today brings the newest Left Of Center Challenge #59, you can see all the inspiration from the DT HERE.  This is a longer joint challenge that covers two weeks. Our sponsors are Delicious Doodles and Smeared Ink.

Today also brings Day 10 of Smeared and Smudged, 12 Days of Creepmas. You can see all the details at Terra's blog, HERE. The Jolly Hopper blog roll is there to the right side of this page in case you get lost along the way.

Really hoping you make a bit of time for yourself and craft something wonderful to share!

For my project I used a beautiful image provided by Smeared Ink, Wistful Fairy~French Fairies.

I made the setting Winter and moody, hope you like it!

To keep the darker feel, I used gray markers and Black Soot Distress Ink.  To add the winter sparkle I used foil on her wings and the mystical tree on each side of her.

I used a Perfect Medium bullet point pen to draw onto the paper, then applied Ranger Sticky embossing powder. This powder is lots of fun, and the foil technique is the one I learned and used HERE on my tag for Tim Holtz' 12 Tags of 2014 Challenge.

I took several photos, rotating the canvas to show the sparkle:)

Please click the pictures if you'd like to see them bigger!

Thanks so much for looking and I hope you can find some time to Hop along 12 Days of Creepmas, I am sure you will not be disappointed. Also link up your projects with us at Left of Center, we would love to see what you make, maybe your can win something too!

Have a great day!

Emerging~Day 9 12 Days Of Creepmas 2014~Smeared Ink Day

Wicked Wednesday!

Day 9 of 12 Days of Creepmas! The end is closer and closer and I am stilllllll not ready......

If you have been following along you know this is the fun creepy alternative take on 12 Days of Christmas. If you follow along on the Jolly Blogger Hop on the sidebar, I am 100% sure you will see the season a tad differently!

See all the creepy holiday wonderfulness along this Hop organized by Smeared and Smudged. You can find the specific details HERE at Terra's Blog. The Jolly Blogger Hop list is there on the side.

Today is also a Smeared Ink day, where Jolly Bloggers are challenged to use a Smeared Ink stamp, rubber or digi.

And in the truest spirit of this day, a creepy, not really, skull ornament! I used the Emerging digital stamp from Smeared Ink, that was given to the Wicked Bloggers from 31 Days of Halloween 2014, thanks so much!!

Please click the photos to see a bigger version:)

I printed the image on Core'dinations card stock. It is colored with Distress Ink Vintage Photo and a water brush.

The green foliage I used Bic Mark It pens.

The substrate is chipboard. I die cut it with the Tim Holtz mini cabinet card die. I inked it with Distress Ink Barn Door. Then I used the Holtz Harlequin stencil and black embossing powder, I love the diamonds :)

I edged the cabinet card with Distress Ink Black Soot. The black lace hanger is nylon hem tape from the sewing department at Wal-Mart. I like to save pennies where I can so I can buy the good stuff like dies and stencils :)

Happy Hopping, enjoy the trip it is fantastic!

Day 7~Santa's Lost Elf~12 Days of Creepmas~Smeared and Smudged

Welcome Saturday!

At least I hope it is Saturday and Day 7 of 12 Days of Creepmas!.......anyways....

See all the creepy holiday wonderfulness along this Hop organized by Smeared and Smudged. You can find the specific details HERE at Terra's Blog. The Jolly Blogger Hop list is there on the side.

Many of the spooky digital images you see along the Hop can be found HERE in the Smeared Ink shop.

I made a hybrid piece for today. I am having fun making digital backgrounds right now. I promise I will get back to inky painty papery goodness soon!

I used the Smeared Ink Steampunk Christmas Elf and Calaveras Candles. I resized, printed and hand colored them.

When Santa is very busy as he is at this time of year, he tends to lose an Elf or two. This one is clearly up to no good. I think he is making Creepmas toys, what do you think? Or he could be doing crazy mad scientist experiments.....that is more likely now that I think about it!

Let me know what you  think, I truly love reading your comments, makes my day!

Seasons Creepings~Creepmas 2014~Day 5~Smeared and Smudged

Happy Tuesday!

It is Day 5 for the 2014 12 Days of Creepmas presented by Smeared and Smudged. For details and rules and such, written more eloquently than I can do, please hop over to our dear hostess Terra's blog HERE.

Today's project features digtal stamps by Rick St. Dennis, Creepmas Girl and Smeared Ink, Steampunk Christmas.

I printed all images onto Core'dinations card stock with an inkjet printer. My markers are Sharpies, Bic Mark It and Infinity.

I used Tim Holtz stencils and embossing ink for the harlequin diamonds and dot patterns and black embossing powder. The red is Distress Ink.

The Christmas trees is torn from an ad in a magazine :) The sentiment I created in Photoshop Elements.

Have a Creepy Tuesday!

Silent Night~Creepmas 2014~Day 4~Smeared and Smudged Smeared Ink

Welcome Sunday!

It is Day 4 for the 2014 12 Days of Creepmas presented by Smeared and Smudged. Today is also a Smeared Ink day, meaning Jolly Bloggers are asked to use stamps, rubber or digi by Smeared Ink. For details written more eloquently than I can do, please hop over to our dear hostess Terra's blog HERE.

I am also sharing this with Smudgy Antics Anything Goes Challenge this month. See the creepyness HERE.

For my Silent Night canvas I used Smeared Ink's, The Bah Humbug Tree, the Calaveras Altar Candle and a background paper by Delicious Darkness.

I printed the stamp onto white Core'dinations card stock using my inkjet printer. The sentiment I created inside Photoshop Elements.

The images were colored with Sharpie Markers, Bic Mark Its and Infinity Permanent Markers. I really like these economical markers and there is no smearing or bleeding for me using this cardstock.

The edges of the print was toned with Black Soot Distress Ink. I used Black Soot and Antique Linen on the sentiment tag. The splatters are Distress Ink and Paint.

The cardboard substrate started as a spraying base scrap. I am very messy with spray inks, they get everywhere lol. This one I liked how the layers came up on it so I used it as my substrate.

Thanks so much for looking! When you can hop over to Smeared Ink to see all the wonderful new additions to the available stamps, so creepy good!

Don't forget, use a Smeared Ink stamp and link your creation to Smudgy Antics  Anything Goes Challenge this month!

~Sweet Dreams~

Happy Freaky Friday!

The Jolly Blog Roll is to the right on the sidebar in case you get lost. You can see more details at Terra's blog HERE.

I have a simple creepy card today. Will you wait patiently for your Creepmas offerings?

The skele and skull is a  Delicious Darkness digital stamp, Cranium Caresses. Stamps are available for sale there until December 31, 2014. Many of them are now for sale at Smeared Ink. I am not sure if this image is at Smeared Ink. The background is a Smeared Ink Digital Paper. I added color with Distress Inks and a water brush.

Boo!

Be careful what you ask Santa for this year....you may have to wait a .....v    e    r    y   long time.

Creepmas Joy~Smeared Ink Day~12 Days of Creepmas AND Unruly PaperArts Link Party

Wonderful Wednesday!

Welcome to Day 2 of 12 Days of Creepmas! You can see all the fun details of this Hop HERE, at Terra's Blog:)

This is Day 3 of UnrulyPaperArts, UPA, 12 Days of Christmas Link Party, join the fun HERE.

For this day of Creepmas, the added challenge is to use Smeared Ink stamps, rubber or digi.

I love tags, ATCs and Altered Playing Cards(APC), so I think this year my Christmas tree is going to have lots of new decorations! And some really awesome gift tags:)

All images on the tag are digital and printed on my inkjet printer. I used Sharpies and Bic Mark Its to color. The tree topper is my favorite Smeared Ink, a Grumpie, love them! The steampunky kitty and gifts are part of the Steampunk Christmas digi set. The background is also a Smeared Ink digital paper in the set Icy.

The sentiment is Tim Holtz alpa stickers, still wanting a real Dymo tape label maker:)
I edged the tag with Distress Ink Faded Jeans and Black Soot.

Have fun on both Hops today! The Creepmas Hop list is at the top on the right in case you are lost.

The Unruly PaperArts Hop Link Party is HERE

I am also sharing at Smudgy Antics, which is back with a new Anything Goes Challenge, the only requirement is to use at least one Smeared Ink stamp, rubber or digi somewhere.

October 31~ 31 Days of Halloween Wicked Blogger Challenge Day 31~Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Looks like we made it!! Congratulations EVERYONE! Wicked Bloggers, Horrifying Hoppers and Sinister Lurkers, thank you ALL for a fabulous month!

Welcome to Day 31 of 31 Days of Halloween! The Smeared and Smudged 31 Days of Halloween Challenge is to create a daily project using a stamp, rubber or digi, and run from there. Remember to pop over HERE to Terra's blog to see the daily Scavenger Hunt prizes donated by our awesome sponsors and find the daily clue. You can also see all the rules there, too.

For your reference I have the Wicked Blogger Hop list on the right sidebar:) Love Mr. Neon Skele! I plan on keeping the hop list for awhile, all of the blogs are awesome and I will continue to Hop and say Hi! And continue to finds tons of inspiration from all of you!

Today in addition to being Halloween, it is Friday, specifically Smeared Ink Friday! So obviously today I had to use my favorite Grumpies digital stamp from Smeared Ink.

The Grumpies decided to go trick or treating in costume as their favorite treat. Really they just want to blend in.....

This canvas combines lots of my favorite techniques, stamping on tissue, mixed media substrate and markers and Distress Inks and Paint. Sadly some Tootise Rolls and M&Ms were sacrificed in the production of this canvas.

Party on just don't come home with a lampshade on your head!

I had to use this photo, I love the moody shadows, really makes it look like clouds, this creepy night:)

Be well and I hope you visit sometimes and say Hi!

Happy Halloween! Watch out for the beings dressed up as M&Ms they just might be part of the Grumpie Squad!

~hugs~
