Hello!
Welcome December! Wow!! So amazing how fast December has arrived!
Today brings lots of fun stuff! This is a very busy month for many people all over. I appreciate you making the time to visit and hope you have an extra moment to leave a word or two.
This month I am also playing along with Smeared and Smudged Creepmas Challenge, if you are looking for my Creepmas, you can follow this link

Also I am playing at
Unruly PaperArts 12 Days of Christmas Link Party, yes I know this is crazy but it is so FUN!
This day brings the December 2014 challenge for
Mixed Media Mojo. This month is fun and simple and we really hope you can play along with us. The theme is Winter/Winter Holidays and the twist is Ornaments! You can play along anytime this month, we would love to see what you are making!
Here is my
Mixed Media Mojo project, hope you like it! Please click the photos to see a larger version :)
I started with a silver shiny star ornament I found at the Dollar Tree store. It was complete with the bell attached.
I inked it with alcohol ink. The alcohol ink ink sticks to metal and plastic which is awesome. It was still too shiny so I decided to clear emboss it. I used Ranger Embossing Ink Dabber to apply the embossing fluid. Then coated with Ranger Extra Fine Embossing Powder. As with all heat embossing, be careful it is HOT. The metal gets even hotter! The star I simply heated while it was flat on the tile counter. The blue bell I embossed with Ranger White powder. I held the bell with a pair of long tweezers. The metal stays hot much longer than paper so take care when embossing.
The embossing gave some nice texture, I am happy with it :)
That part done, set it aside and did the stamp. I used one of my favorite Holtz stamps, the Three Gentlemen. The Steampunk Wise Men. I stamped with Archival Ink, Potting Soil and clear embossed. I love embossing!
I used Antique Linen Distress Ink over the whole image. Then I used Vintage Photo around the edges and inwards. Then I misted the whole thing. I wiped a little off the hats and suits. I let it air dry. I like the color effect after it dried.
Once everything was dry and cool, I used the gears and jewelry jumprings I had in my stash to assemble my ornament.
Once my tree goes up, I will add this to it.
Thanks so much for reading! I hope you find inspiration along the Unruly PaperArts 12 Days of Christmas Hop and with us at Mixed Media Mojo!
Have a great day!
