Here we go, project 9 of 31 done for your viewing pleasure! The Compendium Challenge 12 has us do Distress Phototinting. You can see the process in the Tim Holtz book, I won't go into the details here. I recommend the book highly! And this technique is loads of fun!
I present Mr. Grumpy Boy. He is a vintage photo I found at the Graphics Fairy.
You can see it in his eyes. This is one grumpy Georgie who says nope no way no how am I going to have fun and dress up! Ridiculous enough Mum made me sit for this Hallowe'en portrait in this stuffy coat! So poor dear is immortalized in this portrait for generations to come!
I could not resist this image an almost anti Halloween card but I still made it dark and moody, but hahaha no orange!
Thank you so much for Hopping here today and maybe your kind words can make him smile today and they always do me!
~hugs~

I cannot find one thing about this that I don't absolutely love. The color mix near the photograph of the boy is phenomenal.
ReplyDeletethe colors and textures here are beyond amazing! that photo tinting technique ROCKS. WOW! Love, love, LOVE! xxD
ReplyDeleteI have to learn more about this technique.
ReplyDeleteAmazing results.
Love the button row and netting
Great little project. Love all the elements.
ReplyDeleteKim, I saw him on Graphics Fairy and thought he was too creepy looking to print out!! But you took him and made a card around his bad mood! You are right about it being very Halloweeny without any orange! Love all the embellishments especially the deco mesh? (I think it's deco mesh) super accents!! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Deco Mesh sounds fancy, I like it. ....But, I used the mesh bag from a dollar store bag of pool squishy balls from the summer:) could not stand to throw it away.
DeleteWonderful use of the vintage photo! Your layering of all the elements is super.
ReplyDeleteYup, that's one grumpy Georgie! He is obviously mad that he was sent to the corner after "kissing all the girls and making them cry'! Nice collection of details!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant use of the technique and such a fab way of showing the little one
ReplyDeleteLove the project!
ReplyDeleteLove your card! The wee boy looks so over this halloween malarky - loving that you upcycled a mesh bag, fantastic! Love the 'trick or treat' on there too! Fabulous! x
ReplyDeleteLove your colour choices for this super project! The photo is great!
ReplyDeleteHe totally looks like he's in trouble and tricking rather than treating!!! LOL!!! Love him! Thanks so much for joining us on the Distress Photo Tinting Challenge at CC3Challenge!!!
ReplyDeleteHe is grumpy, but this piece is beautiful, filled with so many details.
ReplyDeleteWhat a freaky fab card, love your tinted grumpy boy!
ReplyDeleteWonderful project. Georgie doesn't look too pleased though. :)
ReplyDeleteKim...this is so adorable that I just had to go over to the Graphics Fairy and find this little guy. You've given him such a wonderful little personality on your card. Your photo tinting is brilliant and I truly love the background you've created behind him. The colors, patterns and textures are all really great! Thanks for sharing your art with us at CC3C. <3 Candy
