Welcome to September! Today is the start of a brand new challenge at Mixed Media Mojo! And I am so happy and honored to say I have joined as a new member of the DT!! So fun, I am looking forward to learning and working with such a creative team! Make sure to check out the posts at Mixed Media Mojo over the next day or two to see the team. Thennnnn you have all of September to call upon your Mojo and celebrate this Fall with us!
Here is my first contribution for the challenge! Celebrating the lovely seasonal change coming soon upon us, Fall. Autumn is such a gorgeous time of year. I love it when that day arrives and almost overnight you can feel the air change and know cooler weather is approaching!

Whenever I can I like to save some cash for the important stuff like stamps and painty stuff. This mixed media project is no different. I used a square plaque I found at a dollar store. I added some masking tape along the bottom and one side. Then coated the whole thing with white gesso.
At the same store I bought a package of napkins with this beautiful leaf image. I separated the layers of the napkin and attached the image onto the plaque that I had painted with Distress Paint. I used gel medium to attach it. This method literally makes the napkin tissue dissolve to the background. I loveeee it!
Along the top and side I used a stencil with my homemade texture paste. Once the paste was dry I added a wash using Distress Paint and Distress Stain over it to bring in more color.
I splattered done Distress Paint randomly. The edges are inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
Thanks for looking! Now go get your Mojo on and Play with us!
I am also linking to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge:Anything Goes. There are so many fun places to play:)
Congratulations on your new DT spot and what a fabulous autumn themed piece to share. I love the colours and textures you created.
