Compendium of Curiosities Vol 3 Challenge #11~CC3C #11~Dreams Wings

Hello!

Happy Thank-Goodness-It's-Friday!

No clue where the time has gone! LOL I am coming in just under the wire with my project for the 11th Challenge in Linda Ledbetter's playtime for the Compendium of Curiosities Volume 3. See all the fun-ness HERE. And WOW it is so close to the end of the month, yikes! So I am barely in time for Gauche Alchemy's Challenge Country Chic and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes! Mixed Media Monthly has a fun color theme inspiration, love the orange!

This Eleventh is sponsored by the Inspiration Emporium with a kind $50 shopping spree to one lucky random winner! Please do visit our most kindly sponsor HERE. bowties are cool
Likewise the ever talented and source of all creative goodness for this wonderful challenge, Mr. Tim Holtz has donated a wonder surprise pack for the Crew's Choice Award! Yay!

This creative prompt for this bit of fun is found on page 52, Effects Powders in the Compendium of Curiosities Volume 3. Please get a copy, it is such a wonderful investment!

Here we go. This was such fun and has led to a new addiction, these powders are addictive and a MUST HAVE! I have never played with them before, the first challenge was finding  a shop that had some in stock locally, always a great excuse to go shopping:) My shop had one color left, Tea Dye. And I love it!

Next challenge came in photographing the project. The light was not cooperating, was too flat to show off the yummy texture. ~Insert sad face~    then this morning, yes, just almost right now, I had left the tag on my art table in my fancy art- studio- that-was-my-kitchen. The sun was shining brilliantly across said difficult project and YES! perfect!

WARNING many pictures below :)

The background to my tag is cut from a manila folder. I stamped the roses in Distress Paint Seedless Preserves using the bottom part of a celery bunch. I love the roses you can make with the celery!

All of the butterflies are coated in the Tea Dye powder, but I varied the underneath colors to see what would happen. The glossy one below was kinda an oops, I coated it with some Ranger Crackle Accents but it did not crackle. No clue why other than the bottle is really old. But I love the effect anyways and it is a nice contrast to the bumps on the rest:)

I stamped the key shape with Distress Ink then embossed it in clear. It came out with another fun texture.

No doubt the stars of this show are the butterflies and vine. They are lovely and I can't wait to get more powders to make more!

I think that is all, thank you SO much if you are still with me all the way down here:)
~Hugs~
Have a great day!
